University of Yaounde II: Researchers at the School of Commerce

A workshop organized by the Centre for Studies and Research in Economics and Management stands on improving policies trade. The University of Yaounde II will strengthen the capacities of its researchers.
Since April 27, she organized a workshop on trade policies in Cameroon and the challenges of globalization, Centre for Studies and Research in Economics and Management (Cerege), located within the University of Yaounde I.

Henri Ngoa Tabi, Cerege director, explains the challenges of this workshop. "The goal is to strengthen the capacity of researchers and doctoral students on issues related to international trade. Currently, the states of CEMAC have not yet resolved the issue of economic partnership agreements.

Les travaux bénéficient de l’appui de l’Organisation World Trade Organization (WTO), represented by two experts from Geneva. Also present, researchers and PhD from the University of Yaounde II. During the work which end today, participants floor on "The problems of the WTO negotiations the requirement for research, academic support programs," said Henri Ngoa Tabi. According to officials Cerege, University of Yaounde II currently has 600 graduate students and researchers in management science. However, "their contribution is crucial in the development of strategies to facilitate trade between Cameroon and other countries in the world. But this seems to be overlooked, "says the director of Cerege. For participants, the Cameroonian researchers will "themselves analyze the problems of trade policy in Cameroon in order to contribute to decision-makers," said the director of Cerege.

Since my arrival at the western European continent, the confrontation with the remains of buildings in the "Atlantic Wall" is central to my concerns. The bunkers are often indestructible revisited: tags, temporary installations for the holidays or when overgrown.

Laval University of Buea: The striking students released

The 'Ubsu has launched an ultimatum demanding the "immediate and unconditional release" of the arrested leaders.

authorities of the University of Buea have they caved in to pressure from the University of Buea Students Union ('Ubsu), the association of students of this institution? After six days of detention at police headquarters in Buea, Arrey Bessong Martin, the chairman of the 'Ubsu and his four comrades were released yesterday evening. A release that coincides with the ultimatum issued by the Student Association. "We demand immediate and unconditional release by the end of this Monday, 5 April 2010, otherwise the University of Buea will never know lasting peace, "threatened the 'Ubsu in a statement that the association and said he put a copy of the presidency, the prime minister at the Department of higher education and the governor's South West.

A source at the central police station, "students have been paroled. Members of their families have pledged to find them and make them available to the court for a lighting strike at the University of Buea in case of need. "The vice-chancellor, Vincent Titanji remained unreachable yesterday night. However, Junior Lambil, the communications director of the 'Ubsu argues that "the strike is terminated for strategic reasons. Our five comrades were kept in inhumane conditions. They had nothing to eat or drink, and slept the floor. The university authorities they had not visited during their detention, "he argued. Any thing that makes "Arrey Bessong Martin and our comrades are under intensive care in a hospital in Buea," says Junior Lambil, the communications manager of the 'Ubsu. The 'Ubsu
also argues that the "struggle for the improvement of living conditions of students remains intact." These claims led Operation campus death "last week are still valid. The striking students demanding the return of dialogue with management at the University of Buea.

We remember that on Tuesday 30 March, five students from the University of Buea were arrested by police in the early afternoon. They are accused of throwing a strike that paralyzed the campus on Monday 29 and Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Classes were suspended in all faculties and most students stayed home. Meanwhile, leaders of the student association observed a sit-in not violent before the rector. Thus they were invited by the authorities in the conference room of Buea for a dialogue with the Vice-chancellor (rector), Pr.Vincent Titanji. A trap, since students will be picked in the corridors of the rectory by the police.
In the process, we learn that the president of the University was convened by the Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, who had advised his colleague to favor the path of dialogue. Dialogue as Junior Lambil on behalf of the 'Ubsu claims to this day. Otherwise, "we will organize to demand our rights," he proclaims.
